Californians Offered Preventative Care, Vaccinations, Resources and More from Health Net RVs

Date: 12/29/22

In 2022, Health Net partnered with 60+ organizations to co-host 175 events. Our three Recreational Vehicles (RVs) were placed at community events during the year to offer free wellness screenings, preventative care, vaccinations, resources and more. Our screenings tested for sun damage, bone density, grip strength, glucose levels, cholesterol and more.

Partnerships are key to Health Net's success in increasing access to care for the communities we serve. We engage with state, county and local organizations to find the specific needs of a given area. Our mobile crews then provide resources tailored to those areas.

Some RV partners from this year include:

  • Vision y Compromiso is committed to community wellbeing. They support promotores and community health workers through their network, training and advocacy.
  • Roberts Family Development Center serves the Greater Sacramento area. They offer services that provide a holistic approach. They focus on PreK-12th grade academic support, parent education, advocacy and more.
  • Community Organized Relief Effort is a crisis response organization. They bring instant aid and recovery to communities in need across the globe.
  • Boys and Girls Club of Metro Los Angeles enables all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. They offer research-based programs and activities.

Some RV initiatives from this year include:

  • RVax 180: Our goal was to host 180 mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics across the state from April 2021 to March 2022. In this time, Health Net administered more than 22,000 vaccines to residents in 70+ cities up and down California. We traveled more than 40,000 miles and held more than 210 vaccine clinics.
  • Back-to-School & Healthy Summer Campaign: We partnered with more than 80 local organizations at more than 100 events across the state. Overall, we passed out over 15,000 backpacks, health screenings, vaccinations and more to California students and families.

These events and partnerships helped improve health and well-being in California. They also allowed Health Net to support and build relationships among communities. These connections remain a priority as we move into 2023.
