Eight Los Angeles-based Organizations to Assist Angelenos in Retaining their Medi-Cal Membership Thanks to Health Net
Date: 09/08/23
Health Net recently awarded $500,000 in grants to eight Los Angeles organizations. These grants will help increase outreach and education efforts on the rolling Medi-Cal redetermination process. Redetermination is a process to verify eligibility for all Medi-Cal members.
To help residents keep their health coverage, it’s important that they know about available resources and upcoming deadlines. The grants we provided will help our community-based partners interact with residents to provide them with the information they need.
Health Net awarded grants to eight organizations:
- Asian Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles
- Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights
- Garfield Health Center
- JWCH Institute, Inc.
- Los Angeles LGBT Center
- Maternal and Child Health Access
- St. John’s Well Child and Family Center
- White Memorial Community Health Center
Two of the eight grants were awarded together with the California Community Foundation (CCF). CCF gave an additional $50,000 to support Asian Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles and Garfield Health Center. Both of these grantees are focusing on Language Access and Services for outreach and enrollment.
Health Net also has free, downloadable materials for our healthcare providers and community-based partners. Our Review to Renew campaign provides resources that help Medi-Cal members navigate the eligibility process and keep their health coverage. Materials include social media posts, flyers, posters and more.
