Sacramento Women and Children in Crisis Receive Housing Assistance Thanks to $40,000 Grant from Health Net to Saint John’s Program for Real Change
Date: 02/05/25
Preventing homelessness is one of the most impactful ways to reduce the number of unhoused individuals in our state. With a $40,000 grant to Saint John's Program for Real Change, we are taking meaningful steps toward addressing this crisis while opening doors to brighter futures for women and children in our community.
Our grant served a few purposes:
- Expand the Saint John's team to support even more women and children
- Helped set up software for managing housing cases
- Supported creating fair and inclusive policies for housing services
At Health Net, we believe that real change starts by working together. By partnering with local organizations like Saint John's, we can create pathways to stable housing and support the overall well-being of those most in need. We're honored to empower Saint John's as they help women, children and families in Sacramento reclaim their hope and break the cycle of trauma and homelessness.
With the addition of a new Housing Assistance Program, helped funded by Health Net, Saint John's has provided critical support to over 100 people, helping them secure permanent housing or short-term financial aid to prevent eviction.
Since 2020, Health Net has proudly invested more than $5.3 million in Sacramento County, strengthening our commitment to creating healthier, more resilient communities. Together, we can make lasting change, one family at a time.
