Your pregnancy, week-by-week

Find out what's happening inside of your body and keep track of important milestones and appointments.

8 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is the size of a raspberry and has webbed fingers and toes. Schedule your monthly checkup to make sure everything is going as planned. Your doctor may also want to schedule a developmental health screening.

12 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is the size of a lime, and their fingers will soon begin to open and close. Around this time, you'll have an ultrasound to hear the heartbeat and confirm your due date. Your doctor may schedule a simple blood test to make sure the baby is healthy and on-track.

16 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is now the size of an avocado. In the next few weeks, they will double in weight and grow in length. At your next appointment, your doctor may talk to you about scheduling a blood test or amniocentesis (which can help to identify issues with your amniotic fluid).

20 Weeks Pregnant

Now in your second trimester, your baby is the size of a banana. At your ultrasound, you can find out the baby’s gender and start planning for the future.

24 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is the size of an ear of corn, and their lungs are growing. They can even raise their eyebrows! Be sure to make it to your monthly appointment and talk to your doctor about glucose screening.

28 Weeks Pregnant

You're now in your third trimester, and your baby is the size of an eggplant! Their sense of hearing, smell, and touch are working well. You'll now have checkups every two weeks.

32 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is the size of a honeydew and has fingernails and toenails. Continue seeing your doctor every two weeks as your due date draws closer.

36 Weeks Pregnant

You're almost there, and your baby is the size of a pineapple! You may find it easier to breathe as your little one moves toward the birth canal. Start seeing your doctor every week until you give birth.

40+ Weeks Pregnant

Your baby is the size of a pumpkin. The average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds and is around 20" long. After 40-weeks, your doctor will want to see you up to 3 times a week to make sure you and your baby are healthy and safe.
